Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cups chicken or turkey broth (if low sodium broth, may need to adjust salt in sauce)
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1-1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/4 cup chopped, fresh parsley (in a pinch, used dried)
  • 3 tbsp dried chives (I also use fresh if I don't have dried)
  • 1 tsp dried sage
  • 1 tsp dried rosemary
  • 1/2 tsp dried marjoram

Instructions

  • In a saucepan, add broth, butter and heat until butter melted, then bring to a boil.
  • Add all of the remaining ingredients, stirring to make sure they are well incorporated and then remove the sauce from the heat.
  • Set the basting sauce aside until you are ready to baste your turkey. No need to reheat when you are basting, it is ready to go.

Notes

*I typically baste my turkey every 30 minutes*
*If you have any remaining basting sauce, it is wonderful added to your gravy!*
