Prep Time 5 minutes
Total Time 5 minutes
Course: Main Course
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cups chicken or turkey broth (if low sodium broth, may need to adjust salt in sauce)
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1-1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/4 cup chopped, fresh parsley (in a pinch, used dried)
  • 3 tbsp dried chives (I also use fresh if I don't have dried)
  • 1 tsp dried sage
  • 1 tsp dried rosemary
  • 1/2 tsp dried marjoram

Method

  1. In a saucepan, add broth, butter and heat until butter melted, then bring to a boil.
  2. Add all of the remaining ingredients, stirring to make sure they are well incorporated and then remove the sauce from the heat.
  3. Set the basting sauce aside until you are ready to baste your turkey. No need to reheat when you are basting, it is ready to go.

Notes

*I typically baste my turkey every 30 minutes*
*If you have any remaining basting sauce, it is wonderful added to your gravy!*
