Easy Pumpkin Dessert

Easy Pumpkin Dessert has a delicious pumpkin pie base, topped with a lovely, vanilla cake and then drizzled with melted butter and sprinkled with crunchy walnuts.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 package Yellow cake mix (18-1/4 ounces)
  • 1 15 ounce plain, canned, pumpkin
  • 1 12 ounce evaporated milk
  • 1 cup granulated, white, sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 4 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 3/4 cup melted, butter
  • 1-1/2 cups chopped, walnuts
  • ** vanilla ice cream or whipped cream to top if you like

Method
 

  1. In a large bowl, combine canned pumpkin, eggs, evaporated milk, pumpkin pie spice and sugar. Once combined, pour into a greased 9 x 13 baking dish.
  2. Sprinkle entire box of yellow cake mix over the pumpkin pie mixture.
  3. Sprinkle chopped nuts over top of dry cake mix.
  4. Drizzle melted butter over the top of dry cake mix and chopped nuts.
  5. Place in a preheated 350 degree oven for an hour or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Notes

**If you like, while still warm, top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of freshly whipped cream**
