Ingredients

  • 6 salmon fillets
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1-1/2 tsp dried ginger
  • 1 tsp dried, red chili flakes
  • 2-3 tsp corn starch
  • 1-2 tbsp water

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and cover a baking sheet pan with foil.
  2. Separate salmon fillets out on sheet pan.
  3. While oven is heating, add soy sauce, water, garlic, honey, brown sugar, ginger and red chili flakes to a small saucepan and heat over medium, bringing to a simmer.
  4. Add the cornstarch and water to a small bowl and mix well, then slowly add to the hot basting sauce and simmer until thickened.
  5. Baste fish with sauce and place in preheated oven for 7 minutes.
  6. After 7 minutes, remove fish from oven and baste again with the sauce, then put back into the oven for 7-10 minutes, or until fish is flaky and cooked through.
  7. Serve over a bed of rice or steamed broccoli! Top with sesame seeds or chopped green onions. Enjoy!
