20 Minute Creamy Parmesan Pasta is super quick to make and tastes so rich and delicious!!

Normally, I am the chief cook and bottle washer in my home, but my husband is always willing to jump in and help, provided I leave him instructions on what needs to be done. Due to the current Coronavirus situation and my change of schedule, he has made this recipe the last two times, completely by himself.

I want to tell you, Opa hit it out of the park with this recipe. I am not trying to brag on him, but if my hubs can make this and blow my mind, you can too! Now that I just implied he is inept in the kitchen, which he is not, I do need to give him credit for making some of my all time favorites. He makes the world’s best refried beans, BBQ’d steaks, eggs of all sorts and of course, his reigning All Star status still stands, for his sourdough grilled cheese sandwiches. Nobody can touch him in these categories and now, I can add 20 Minute Creamy Parmesan Pasta to his list.

20 Minute Creamy Parmesan Pasta is two kinds of cheese, garlic and butter stirred together with delicious, tender noodles. This made it onto our favorites list the very first time we tried it!!!

This is a basic pasta recipe that is rich and delicious. The ingredients are things you most likely have in your fridge right now. There are no crazy ingredients that the kids are going to turn their noses at, so you can be sure they will eat well and leave table with a full belly.

To make this dish, you will need pasta noodles. We normally use spaghetti noodles, but if for reason you do not have these, you can use linguini, fettuccine or for that matter just about any noodle you have. You are going to want to get a pot of water boiling. Make sure to salt your water, because as the noodles cook in the water, they are also being seasoned by the saltiness in the water. Cooking pasta in salted water makes a huge difference in the taste, so don’t forget to salt your water!

While your pasta is cooking, you are going to get a skillet out and place it over medium heat on the stove top. Place you butter into the skillet to start melting while you slice or chop your garlic. Once your garlic is prepped, add it to the butter and saute for 1-2 minutes. If you notice the garlic browning, turn down the heat. Burned garlic is bitter, so we want to avoid that. Once your garlic has been sauteeing for a couple of minutes, add your cream cheese. Since cream cheese comes in a block, you will want break it up into smaller pieces, in order to help it melt more evenly in the butter. Once the cream cheese is softened and melting, add the heavy cream and about 1 cup of hot pasta water, as well as the parmesan cheese and spices. Mix this together until well incorporated, then add the drained pasta to the skillet. Gently toss the pasta in the sauce to coat. Garnish with more parmesan and red pepper flakes when serving.
